Gaminik Privacy Policy

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service. This policy applies to the Gaminik applications for iOS and macOS ("the App"), distributed through the App Store and the Mac App Store, and — for the macOS version — through the official Gaminik website.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that We collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms & Conditions, which are accessible from within the App, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, We may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The categories of information involved are:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. The App does not bundle any advertising or social-media tracking SDKs. To keep the App stable, we collect diagnostic Log Data when the App crashes or encounters an error. On macOS this uses Countly, an analytics platform that we self-host on our own servers — this crash data is kept on our own infrastructure and is not shared with any third party. On iOS this uses Google Firebase Crashlytics, a third-party service provided by Google. See "Log Data" below.

Third-Party Services

Gaminik relies on the following third parties to provide the Service. Recognized text that you translate may be forwarded to the translation provider you select in the App:

Which providers are involved depends on the translation engine you choose. We only transmit the minimum text necessary to perform the translation, and we de-identify it before transmission where technically possible.

Use of Screenshots and Images in Translation

During the use of our screen translation feature, we capture images of your screen (or a selected window or region) using the operating system's screen-capture facilities. These screen images are held temporarily in your device's memory (RAM). We attempt to identify and read all text present in them (which may include your personal data).

Upon successful text recognition, if you use an online translation engine, the recognized text is de-identified, transmitted via a secure encrypted channel to our servers, and then forwarded to the third-party translation provider you selected (see "Third-Party Services") for processing. Upon completion of the translation task, all relevant data — including both the original text and its translation — is immediately purged from our servers. We do not retain your translation records, nor will we provide or disclose such data to any other third parties.

We also offer a standalone Image Translation feature. When utilizing this feature, you provide an image in one of the following ways:

We try to identify and read all text within the image (which may include your personal data), and then translate it following the same secure procedure described for the online translation engine. The original image and the translated result are stored in your device's local storage. When you choose to delete this translation task, the image and the text are immediately and permanently deleted from your device.

For each translation task:

System Permissions

To function, the App requests the following permissions. You are always in control and may grant or revoke them at any time in your device's Settings (iOS) or System Settings → Privacy & Security (macOS):

Purchases and Refund Requests

Purchases made inside the App on the App Store or the Mac App Store are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple sends us signed transaction records (including transaction identifiers, the product purchased, price, and any refund status) so that we can deliver, maintain, and — if a purchase is refunded — revoke your entitlements.

If you request a refund from Apple for an in-app purchase, Apple may ask us for information to help it evaluate your request. In that case we provide Apple with a limited set of information about the transaction and your account, which may include: whether the purchased item was delivered and is working properly, the extent to which purchased coins have been used, the approximate age of your account, and your account status. This information is sent only to Apple, only in connection with your own refund request, and is used by Apple solely to decide the outcome of that request. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles this information.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the App, We collect data and information that we call Log Data. On macOS, this Log Data is collected through Countly, a crash- and analytics platform that we self-host on our own servers, so it is not shared with any third party. On iOS, this Log Data is collected through Google Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device model and name, operating system version, the configuration of the App when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, the App version, and crash diagnostics such as stack traces. This information is used for diagnosing crashes and errors and improving the Service.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to their Personal Information only to the extent required to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete the Personal Data that We have collected about you. You can delete your account and personal data at any time from within the App by opening Settings, going to the Account section, and choosing "Delete Account". Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case We discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, We immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that We will be able to take the necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

This policy is effective as of 2026-07-27.
